What is HallowLoot?
HallowLoot was geared towards people who want to play tabletop RPG games with their friends and family. Initially built for those that play Dungeons and Dragons, but can be used for anything else you deem fit. It's also a personal home project because I got bored and decided that my time would be better spent getting frustrated with coding and website development.
What does it offer?
It's got some shit in it, that's for sure. Here's some:
- It's free
- Social media-like functions (look on the right side of this page)
- Create and join campaigns
- DM has full control over their campaigns
- DMs can create and manage items, spells, NPCs, player characters and their stats/items/etc.
- Players can create, save, and manage their player characters
- Character stats
- Items
- Backstory
- ...and more
- Uhhhhhhhh.....other crap
Do I have to play tabletop games to join?
Nope. HallowLoot.com also has a social media element where you can post whatever the hell you want and follow other users. Share your thoughts, images, others' posts, and comment on them.
Why "HallowLoot"?
It was initially going to be called CriticalLoot, but that domain was already taken (at the time of writing, that website was.....something?). Presented my spousal-unit with two choices: StinkingCloud.com or HallowLoot.com. That's all the backstory you get.
Are you going to collect my personal info?
The only info collected is what you use to sign up with. I'm not going to put tracking cookies on your browser, because whatever you do on the interwebs is between you, your ISP, and whatever religious entity you believe in (if applicable). I don't need, nor want, to know what shit you're up to elsewhere.
Are you going to email me a bunch of stuff?
What, like spam? Nope, I hate that shit, too. Emails will just be limited to account-related stuff; like password resets, suspension/ban notifications (can't let people get too wild on here), and that's about it for now.
What's the Roadmap look like?
- Live Campaign streaming
- Generic live streaming, because why not?
- Live chat for streams
- Video Channels
- More social media interactions
- Mobile App
- Short list, but I have faith in my ability to think of more crap that will drive me batshit loco to develop code for.
